Woody Allen's return to comedy
Scoop. . .
I was very excited going in, but after seeing it . . Im having mixed feelings. . .
I am a devout Woody Allen fan, so any and all criticisms come from a very loving place, that being said.. I was a teensy bit dissapointed. Maybe it was because I loved Match Point so much that anything after that would be a let down. Or maybe Woody is just better at depressing/disturbing flicks than comedies. Although I cant deny that 'Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask' was pure genius.
I am also a big Scarlet Johannson fan, why? I dont know, I just am. And lets face it, Hugh Jackman is about as attractive as they come. They had some chemistry, but it just wasnt explosive the way the it was in Match Point.. .. There I go again comparing the two.
I tend to like Woody Allen movies better the second time around, so I will definately give this one another shot. But I really think Woody should have put a little more distance between these two movies to avoid the inevitable comparisons... Does anyone have any thoughts ? ? ?
There was also one big hole in the plot, but I wont give away the story line.

Will have to put this in the Netflix queue.
Haven't seen any of his work since Sleeper, which I thought was an absolute riot!
Netflix?? Im shocked and appalled. One more industry that is being replaced by computers. (book stores, libraries, print journalism, the freaking postal service, and now movie rental extablishments) Its a world gone mad galt.
Hey, I like Netflix. Without it, I'd never see any movies.
Sleeper was a fantastic movie!
By the way, Kathanda, I love your idea about reading banned books. I say we should have a book club. We'll meet maybe once a month at some cool place to drink coffee and talk treason. :)
Im all about talking treason and reading books. Lets do it. Now who should we invite..... I Know! The new principal. He seems like a fun guy...
